Get moving at the mall with the Mercury Mile, learn about free Glow Zumba Party

NORTH COVENTRY >> Take a stroll inside the mall for this week’s Mercury Mile walk and learn about an upcoming free Glow Zumba Party.

The Coventry Mall is more than just a shopping center but it’s also a place where fitness can happen. The weekly community stroll will move indoors and begin from the mall’s new entrance at noon Wednesday. The new entrance is located near TGI Fridays. The address of the mall is 351 Schuylkill Road.


About 30 people joined The Mercury Mile walk last week which was hosted by West Pottsgrove Elementary School. The weekly community stroll is usually held outdoors but will be moved inside to the mall this week. Michilea Patterson — Digital First Media

Those that join the mall mile on Wednesday will learn more about the Glow Zumba Party open to children and adults. Radiate, gleam and shine bright in the dark during a free glow-light Zumba experience inside the Coventry Mall on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Celebrate wellness at this exciting community activity which will take place in the former Limerick’s Furniture space, near Pier 1 and TGI Fridays in the mall.

Zumba combines dance moves with fitness, making exercise fun. Glow bracelets, necklaces and other items will be on deck, and available free to participants. Wear neon-colored workout gear for the full glow-in-the-dark experience. The event is made possible through a partnership between Fit for Life, the Pottstown YMCA, Coventry Mall, Anytime Fitness and Beyond Fun Fitness. For more information, email or call 610-850-0282.

The Mercury Mile is a free, weekly community activity that happens every Wednesday at noon. The location of the walk changes from week to week. Area organizations and individuals are encouraged to host a Mercury Mile walk to get employees involved and use the activity as an opportunity to inform the community about their company or upcoming events. Organizations that host the healthy activity will be featured in the newspaper through photographs and online for the “Businesses in Motion” section.
