POTTSTOWN >> Celebrate National Park and Recreation Month by joining the “Walking Wednesday” movement with this week’s Mercury Mile.
The healthy community walk will begin noon today, July 12, from Franklin Elementary School. Participants are to meet in front of the blue and gold school sign which is located near the intersection of North Franklin and Grace Streets. Use the address 954 N. Franklin St. for GPS directions. From the school, walkers will travel through the surrounding neighborhood including to the local Terrace Lane Park.
Come out to the walk for a stroll in the sunlight and meet new people at the same time. Everyone’s invited so make sure to bring along friends, family and even pets. If there is inclement weather on Wednesday afternoon then the walk be cancelled and resume next week.
The Mercury Mile is a weekly community activity that happens every Wednesday at noon. The location of the walk changes from week to week. Area organizations and individuals are encouraged to host a Mercury Mile walk to get employees involved and use the activity as an opportunity to inform the community about their company or upcoming events. Organizations that host the healthy activity will be featured in the newspaper through photographs and online for the “Businesses in Motion” section.
