LOWER POTTSGROVE >> The Pottstown NAACP and Fit for Life are coming together for a springtime walk this Saturday, April 1, morning.
The community is invited to start their day with an energizing stroll beginning at 9 a.m. from SunnyBrook located at 50 Sunnybrook Road in Lower Pottsgrove. Participants of the healthy activity will meet in the ballroom then the group will head outside for the walk.
The social walk is a way for community members to come together to learn about local events and resources. On Saturday afternoon, the Pottstown NAACP will have their inaugural luncheon to continue the celebration of black history. The keynote speaker of the event will be The Hon. Garrett D. Page, an African American judge for the county circuit of Norristown.
The Fit for Life’s Mercury Mile walking series will start back up again this year on April 19 at noon. The location is to be determined. The Mercury Mile is weekly and promotes walking and other fitness activities as a free exercise. The walk is every Wednesday at noon and travels from one organization to the next encouraging people to walk at lunch.
If there is inclement weather on Saturday morning then the springtime walk will be cancelled.
