NOTE: Because of rain, today’s Mercury Mile Walk has been canceled. The weekly activity will return in the spring of 2017.
POTTSTOWN >> Tis the season for giving so a charitable organization that does just that will host the last Mercury Mile walk of the year tomorrow afternoon.
The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities is a nonprofit interfaith organization that provides food, clothing and housing services to those in need. The building is inside the former American Legion Hall which is located at the corner of King and N. Franklin streets. Participants of this week’s daytime stroll will join the Cluster for the last Mercury Mile walk of 2016 at noon tomorrow, Nov. 9. The address of the Cluster is 57 N. Franklin St.
The Cluster is gearing up to provide holiday meals to hundreds of families in the area and provide Christmas toys for 300 children. During this time of year, the cluster is in need of personal care products to give to families. Needed items include shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant and lotion. For more information on needed items and how to donate, visit the website www.pottstowncluster.org or call 610-970-5995.
