Pottstown >> This week’s Mercury Mile will meet at the YMCA and readers will have the chance to discuss the new redesign of the newspaper with the editor.

If you’ve picked up a copy of the newspaper in the last few days, you’ve probably noticed it looks quite different. Our new newspaper has color-coded sections, informational rails at the bottom of pages and more engagement pieces.

The community will have the opportunity to participate in a short mile walk and discuss the new newspaper today with Mercury Editor Nancy March.

The Mercury Mile will meet noon today at the Y’s indoor track. The mile was originally scheduled to meet outdoors but was moved inside because of rain. The Pottstown Y is located at 274 N. Adams St. and participants just need to sign in at the front desk then they can use the indoor track for free at this time.

Spend a pleasant afternoon talking and discovering new acquaintances during a lunchtime mile stroll. Invite your coworkers, family and pets to join the mile.

The weekly mile is a lunchtime walk to promote walking as a free way to exercise and to demonstrate that there are plenty of trails and routes in the area available for use.

The mile’s location changes every week so walkers can explore the multiple local routes and trails.
